In the Summertime, their cool tea and Summer selections are a refreshing retreat. The rocking chairs and checker board barrel outside on the "porch" add to the welcoming atmosphere. And, their "general store" shopping area changes with the seasons, and carries items customized to local interests.
Cracker Barrel has always been our favorite restaurant, specially when traveling, for a delicious breakfast. We were looking for a place for pumpkin pancakes and found the special advertised on the website. We went there for breakfast this morning and was informed that the promotion was over. We ordered one of the combo breakfast and were very disappointed in the food quality- Bisquick was hard, and temperature of food was cool to cold. We were hungry and in a hurry so didn't wait until the problem could be corrected. Won't be going back.
It's a nice experience to go to Cracker Barrel on a chilly, damp day, getting seated near the open hearth fireplace, being served by a four star apron, and enjoying warm home-style food and fixin's.
Love Cracker Barrel! Staff is friendly, food is great. Love the rainbow trout. Their braised mushroom roast is also delicious. Servers are great.
The wait staff aprons have gold stars on them, that show the experience and skill of person.
It was nice to go during the week, when it's less crowded. Service is always friendly and quick, and the breakfast food is always good. Super family-friendly, and I can never leave the store without buying something cute!
My first time at this place, so I tried the sampler dinner. The meatloaf, chicken and dumplings, and ham were all good. Nice variety of basic, homestyle food. My brother goes here a lot, because he likes their pork chops and side dishes. His friend ordered the fish dinner with some healthy sides. They seem to have something for everyone, no matter your food tastes.
Cracker Barrel is a dependable place to go for comfort food in a comfortable setting.
For a chain, they do a good job of approximating Southern hospitality.
